Melco Closes Melco Mart - Partners With Madeira

I just got through the 800-877-4272 and selected Option 2 for Machine Sales instead of Option 3 for Melco Parts. Eli from customer service apologized for the confusion and helped me with my order. Eli gave me permission to let you guys know that if you need to speak to someone about ordering Melco parts, he can help you. Melco is still trying to work out the issues with the change to Madiera.

I just spoke to an employee of Melco's and here is the latest.
1. As far as the phone not being answered at the LA Training Center, Cynthia was made a contact employee several months ago. She doesn't come into the office on a regular basis, only when she has classes. I suppect this is happening at the other centers across the country.
2. Melco never had 40 people in training so they did't layoff 40 trainers. They have also converted training to webnairs using downloaded documents as you go though the class.
3. They did layoff a number of people in Denver last week. Eli is around to handle the hoops and equipment but the other MelcoMart people are gone as well as people in other parts of building.
4. The people at Oerliken Sauer sent down a message several months ago to trim some places. When they looked at the people and the places that were not making money they did some cutting. Melco Mart has not been a big money maker so they eliminated the backing, needles, bobbins and thread parts choosing Maderai as a supplier.
5. Companies all over the country have let people go to trim. This has been the chance for all companies to get rid of people who were not bringing in money or being as productive as they could have been.
6. Melco is currently selling, not as much as they would like but so is everyone else. We should not be concenred about our warranties, machines and the future of Melco.
