Where did you find the updates. Wouldn't it be nice if Melco notified somebody that updates were available? LOL

Open version 9, then click on tools>check for updates.

If you are running v.9, in one of the menus - there is the ability to check for an update. Do that in both DS and AOS and you should be updated to the latest version.

          Rod,
I adjusted the bobbin tension but it didn't help. My Amaya has the newer style thread sensor, I think, based on descriptions given. It looks like my XT's sensor, and the model number begins with 323...
Is there any hope without having a tech come out? I'd hate to pay for the visit when it's likely to be a software issue.

            Mary,

At this point I would contact Melco, ask for Lonnie or Sal in software and discuss this issue before calling a tech in....I would say that just based on my personal old Amaya acting exactly the same way, works great in V7 but not in V9 we have a possible software quirk....

              Thanks, I will.
I really like the new version of software, but I think this is a software problem, too.

Well, we picked up machine number 3 the other day which has the original thread break sensor, and tested it. On two slices of 1.5 oz. cutaway and a design that doubled back over itself a number of times building up stitches for depth, it looked like 95-99% of the time, it ran at a 1.

This was on a fresh install of the latest software on a brand new machine.

BTW, something good about the latest version... I can confirm that the program is now Vista 64bit compatible and the network stack does indeed work. So, those of you who were worried about getting a new computer with Vista and the 64 bit version can rest easy now. It works just fine.

What are you considering "old"? My machines are almost 3 years old and I am not experiencing any actifeed problems. I am running the latest version of v9. I am having other problems, but none related to actifeed.
