Amaya OS v10 started crashing

How do you exit a file before closing OS? I don't see a "Close" file, only an "Exit". When I exit, my last file worked on still comes up when I open OS the next time?

Are you "exiting" OS or the design file itself? For my version of OS, I click on "File" in the upper left of the OS window and select "exit" from the drop-down menu. A pop-up window comes up and asks if I want to save the changes I've made - I usually say "no" because it's mostly referring to any changes I've made in sew speed, color sequence, and the like. I've never had a file reopen when I open OS if I've followed this procedure; maybe newer versions are different.

I have Version 10 OS. When I click on File and then Exit, it doesn't ask about saving changes or anything like that. And it always loads with the last file I was using every time I start AOS up again.

Can someone with V10 OS jump in and help? My OS came over on the Mayflower so I can't suggest anything further.
