So...I tried this bending of the bill stop..seems to be working better. But now on the second dozen of the night I am starting to get thread breaks..arrgg! What do you have your settings at when you do flex fit caps? I'm tired and cranky at my machine...hammer sounds better and better!

We sew on Flexfit hats exclusively. Are you still having issues with them coming off the frame mid-sewing? We had the same problem initially and it took us awhile to figure it out. Let me know if it is not resolved and we can chat about it. It might be a design issue with a simple fix.

You guys are so awesome! There is light in my world again x haha.. With Bills advice on moving the bill stop back I was able to get the wacfs to work, plus some setting tips from Rid and Erin! And Juli and sschroed2 you are absolutely right on the ccfs..answering my prayers! These frames feel so secure

One more awesome tip. I always use a "bootee" on the bill. This protects the bill from rubbing and making a mark. Take 2 pieces of old scrap material (old clothing will do) and trace the bill shape - be generous. Sew them together and wa la - a bootee for the bill.

I'm currently using two prices of painters tape until I get a bootie made!

We use a quick spray, then gentle rub of Magic Sizing for marks on the bill and hoop burns on other products. Works like a charm!

I am trying to felxfit on the E16. So far, no luck, broken needles are the amin problem. The hat sits way above the throat plate, so there is vibration and I guess movement and then the needle breaks. This machine does not have a raise plate. I have looked at the comments and tried most of them and still no luck. Waiting for some 80/10 needles to see if that helps.

                  Conventional frames
4 clicks up on pressed foot
Set the minimum thread feed to 13
                  1 layer backing
                  900 spm

And most issues will go away

Hats were a stressful thing for me
So much so that I almost gave up on the business

Ok new day, same issue. Broken needles. The design is simple but there ae letters on each side of the center seem. The design goes from the bottom and from the center outward. The design sews fine on other hats. I am ready to say no Flexfits at this point.
