  • DesignShop v9 lite ? infected by Melco Sizer ?

Suddenly, when I open DSv9 lite, Melco Sizer opens up, and nothing I do, changes that. The problem is that I can not send the design to the machine any more.

Yesterday, I had a satellite tech changing things to point my satellite dish to a new Ipstar satellite, and my internet access has just as suddenly improved. That is the only change.

I had used the machine all last week, sewing out lots of Easter designs, without any sign of programme problems.

Today, when I open up DSv9, and up comes MelcoSizer, and I can see a DS symbol at the top left corner, and I can click on that and open it to a page only (I can still see MelcoSizer and its command line right behind it), and I can open a design (from the melcosizer command line)onto that DS page, but again, I cannot send the design to the Amaya.

I have tried changing the ethernet cable from the from the router back to the computer (where it was before I was ever connected to the internet), and back again, to no avail. I have turned the whole lot off at the wall, waited a couple of minutes, rebooted everything - to no avail.

What I find strange is that Melco sizer has its own icon on my screen, as does Live Design Prep, as does Melco Sizer, neither of which I have ever used. My installation CD is in pristine condition.

Would it be quickest to remove all the melco programmes and re-load them?

Sorry to say but this happened to me a few months ago and the secuity dongle had to be replaced. If you get Melco on the line they have several things they will check first with you to make sure that it is the dongle.

Phew! Yes, it was the dongle which had a bit of a dangle out of its hole. Couldn't believe I didn't notice it b4 I went into panic mode, but the interesting thing was that I still had limited use of the machine by invoking the multiple machine mode. I could import and change colour, but not check colour, nor change speed. Anyway, after one peculiar colour mix sew-out, I turned everything off, repositioned the dongle et voila! Nice to know I wasn't alone, so thanx for your reply, Rhonda
