Correct. The dongles are non-transferrable anyway. You'll need to get new ones issued by Melco when you have the serial number of the machine, or added to the dongles you may already own.

Having bought a used machine and had Melco contact immediately thereafter, I've got to say the dongles ARE transferrable. They are part of the software.

How would that work? I have one dongle for all my machines; not one dongle per machine. I was told you had to register the serial number and get a dongle for it. I guest the SN is transferrable? But not the physical dongle? <confused>

It's a moot point anyway because included is V.8 of the software (I upgraded to V.9) and specify it doesn't include dongles. I'm just including it because I have that version available.

Then your including No software and the machine is then priced more then a used machine with warrenty from melco.
The dongle is not for sale without the software from melco.

Just because you have a copy of an older version of your software doesn't mean someone else can use it. Did you upgrade from V8 or did you buy a new copy? If you bought a new copy you should have gotten a new dongles. Buying DS and OS without dongles is useless. I'm afraid your software has no value in this case without the dongles.

Correct. The extra hoops make it a fair price for asking 10k or best offer. If you already own a machine or two, the dongle is already in your possession. I think for a few bucks, Melco will sell you a dongle if you register your machine's serial number which is still cheaper than having to purchase the entire software package which I'm including. I'm actually waiting to hear from Melco how they would handle the dongle issue. I also suggest that anyone purchase the Melco Maintenance Agreement for any/all of their machines as the warranty isn't enough. And, yes, I paid for an entire new upgrade version of the software but never received new dongles for it. This is my question to Melco because, I agree, what is the value of my last version if I can't transfer it without a dongle? They already got my money for the full new version ... I'm thinking they owe me dongles for them.

When you up graded they sent you codes that you needed to enter that code up graded your dongles to run the new software. you only have one legal use for the software upgrading does not give you another license it just allows you to move up to the next level with your current upgraded dongles.

I'm learning that now. That's kind of beat, huh? I should relist that price and take off the cost of the software. So the price for this package will be revised to $8500 without the software. Email me if you want an updated list of what's included for sale. Thanks for bringing that to my attention!
