  • Short tempers on the Amaya user's group

    Wow!
I've got a new rule for our User's group, John.

Everything typed must be done so with a SMILE!

I recently had someone send me a private message accusing me of, now get this, "sarcasm". REALLY?!? Me (Ed)?

What this person failed to note was, what I had written was done so in an effort to clarify what was written by someone else. But they simply took it the wrong way.

This person, too, was rather NEW to the list and hadn't quite learned the atmosphere. They also wrote that this is a "public forum" to which I corrected by saying this is definately a "private forum" that anyone would like to participate may do so by signing up.

I feel confident in saying, although some of the information posted here from time to time may not be 100% correct, it is done with the best intentions for all. YES,.... even my posts! Lord knows, I'm sure we could all find something better to do with our time if it wasn't.

In short, let's play nice in the sand box, kids.

LOL Ed - you Sarchastic? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Amen sir, amen! Many thanks to everyone around here that gives of their time to help out... no one gets paid to be here and advice is given with the best of intentions. I don't know about all of you - but I'll forever be learning and don't consider myself an expert on anything - that's what makes living fun.

Some people don't understand this is social group and the information as Ed so noted is information and meant to help. Use it as you see fit. I continue to enjoy the information and the banter in this group and would hope that whoever it is that is not happy find another group that specializes in being unhappy and I am sure there is such a group just google it

I always read EVERY response Ed delivers, even if I it doesn't pertain to me because they usually are entertaining and make me smile, laugh and I always learn something from them. That "something" could be business related or just learning something about Ed!
I welcome both. Don't change on us now, Ed.

I used to have a poster that said, if it weren't for the valleys, there would be no mountains to enjoy.

To paraphrase, if it weren't for the not-so-happy, you wouldn't be able to enjoy the happy!

                        The above is true.

I belong to quite a few internet lists or newsgroups and I must say that this is one of the friendlier , more helpful and organized groups on the web.

I am pleased to be a participant from time to time
& I hope that I have helped some

I have to admit, I genuinely love what I do- being an embroiderer, tech and trainer. It's a great combination of apparel decoration (wife loves it) and working with a very precise piece of machinery combined with the complexities of the ever changing PC (Mac for Roland).
And what seems to be the icing on the cake is that I get to meet a great number of wonderful folks just like you guys here on the list (what, are we over 1,000 yet?).
Some folks have boys night out or weekends at the camp, my wife has facebook, and well, I have "The Amaya User's Group".
Sure, chattin' it up with you guys might turn into a service call or two a year, but I learn as much from everyone's input here as I dole out. So don't ever think you don't have something to offer.
In fact, I just learned the other day a very wise old saying:

-Woman who cooks carrots and pees in same pot, very unsanitary.

Does it apply to embroidery? No, but very informative none the less.
                          Laugh it up, people!

                            I'm laughing again!
just in time to go to bed, yes with a smile on my face!
                            Thanks Ed

Ed, Don't kill me for this...LOL...Ed is a true Southern Gentleman and I'm not sure what picture you are referring to. I saw his picture once in the Stitches article but that was on-line. I will say this, Ed is a very nice good looking Southern Gentleman and his manners while he was in our home showed this to be true. Don and I know that our Maya is in good hands with a Top Notch Tech like Ed. We enjoyed meeting him and he was very helpful to answer any questions we may have had, even though Don and I were in there in his way the whole time he was here...until next time...
