IF anyone ever needs info on getting into Ad Specialties (great way to make extra bucks) feel free to contact me-I'll give you the info to get set up FREE. (I don't charge and I'll tell you how YOU can get setup with no charge in UPIC).
For today's hint-anyone doing BUTTONS with the 2 1/4" (or other size) button maker from 'that' Button Maker company (I won't post their full name but they are good)
I have a source for the button 'parts' at a fraction of the price you pay the button company.
Just bought 2500 buttons (shell, backing with pin, and mylar) and paid just under 7¢ per button.
Did an order for 300 buttons NOT including the printing, for $150.00 Not bad for about 3 hours of work and $21 worth of supplies....anyone need the source let me know.
I don't get paid for passing along any info on any ad specialties or UPIC...I just like to 'spread the word'. I do it for the 'warm fuzzy'...LOL...

Would love your source for the buttons. Are you doing embroidery on the buttons or is fabric to thick?

I buy only the 2 1/4" button parts for the Badge a Minit machine
I have, but I know they carry other sizes also.
You have to tell them the size you want AND the machine type you
are using, on some buttons it makes a difference.
        I get (small order) $1.50 per button, 50 @ $1.00, 100 @ 75¢ 250+ @ 50¢
and that does NOT include the printing-I have another print shop do that
and the customer can go directly to them-they have my template for layouts.
        Here's the company

        Badge Parts Inc.
        1520 Paramount Drive
        Waukesha, WI 53186
        800-776-3633

I don't know if they have a website or not.
But the prices are great- BadgeAMinute price is $159.95 for 1000, we just
paid $155 for 2500!!! and if I went for 5,000 it's even less...
well worth going to this company.

For Ad Specialties, just go to www.upic.org and register-there is NO charge to become UPIC listed. This gives you an industry 'number' and all you need to do is prove you are a 'distributor' (reseller) of ad specialty products. Since you embroider and resell textiles, you qualify. If you can't get the registration to work on-line-just give them a phone call and they will walk you through it. Then you have access to 10's of thousands of distributors, item search engine, daily and weekly email specials, catalog mailings, samples, etc. Well worth doing since it cost you NOTHING and you already have customers that will buy from you.

I can 'forward' an example of the daily email flyers I get to anyone that sends me their email-can't post it on here because it contains images.
