Mug Press

Anyone out there own one? Now that we have our Epson 4880 wide format printer and can do ChromaBlast and Sublimation stuff, I am thinking about adding a mug press. We occasionally get asked for them and it would be nice to have.

Wondering if anyone has gone the ebay route on these. I'd never buy a full size heat press there but I have to admit, I am half tempted to try one of the $150 mug presses rather than plunking down another $700 on a GeoKnight or Phoenix. Yeah, I know - I may be crazy but having just bought 2 16x20's and a hat press, I'm short on growing the business funds

Just thought I would post information on how things turned out. I decided to go the ebay route and get the knock off machine. Now, I can't speak to the longevity obviously, but I can tell you that it seems pretty well built. I ran a mug tonite and it came out beautiful. This is going to be a nice addition to the business. For $150, it's hard to beat.

How cheap can you get plain white mugs? And what is the minimum quantity needed to purchase to obtain that price?

http://www.dyetrans.com/?ref=conde has them for about 1.23 in cases of 36. Problem is cases of mugs are heavy so count on abour $25 shipping.

About $2 a mug is what it comes down to cost.

Hi, I saw your post some time ago abt mug presses - knock offs from EBay. I clicked on link and it ws expired - no surprise - but disappointing. Is your press still working well? Is it one where the mug sets up right? Could you get me the name of the seller you bought from? We have had a Geo Knight mug press for 3 yrs and just wore it out. Sending for new parts to fix but it will be 14 days or so.. We want to add a 2nd press as back up anyway. Thanks again. Jill

The seller we bought it from was getting out of the biz. He later offered me 4-5 of them to see if I wanted to wholesale them. I declined. The press is still working fine though.

Hi, just happened to read the original post and thought I would add my 2 cents(smile). I have a George Knight mug press that I brought off ebay many years ago, it is not like the ones that they sell today. It looks like a liquid dispenser. I looked up the info and felt as if I had been ripped off. Couldn't for the life of me understand how to use it. Well, good ending to bad buy......I purchased the a few cactus wraps and the tape that can withstand heat and the gloves and never used the mug press. I use my oven. The cactus wraps works just as well in an oven......and not parts to replace and everything is still working fine. So, even though I was ripped off buying that mug press I came out on top using the cactus wraps. Now I can do 4 mugs at one time.
