Does anyone have a MelcoJet direct to garment printer? It looks appealing- I currently do dye sub, but this does black shirts. Is it easy to use?

One of the west coast reps told us that it was shown at a recent trade show. He said that it can do white better than the brother system. They got an informal challenge at the trade show and won. It should be at the Long Beach ISS show in January.Digital Stitchz / LaserWorkz<br />905 Texas Street<br />Fairfield, CA 94533<br />707-426-9963<br /><br />Embroidery, Screenpriinting, laser engraving and banners<br /><br />We keep you in STITCHZ, make your life colorful & your business more visible.

When I went to the ISS show in Ft. Worth in October, this was called the Anajet. Melco was showing what it would do there in their booth. I liked the idea that the ink delivery system was completely sealed because I would not use a machine like that every day. I watched it print on white and blue but not black.Creating the best First Impressions with custom embroidery.<br /><br />Jo Leftwich<br /> <a href=\"http://www.justsewitllc.com\" target=\"_blank\">http://www.justsewitllc.com</a>

The Brother printer does not print white ink. Anajet http://www.anajet.com and the Melco printer are the same looking at the picture.

In my opinion the Melco unit is just too new. We just purchased a Fast T-jet 3 from US screenprinters. Many of these machines DTG, Melco, etc. are about the same price. But US screenprinter has probably made about half of the units in use in the world to date. They seemed to us to have more experience and can help with the pros and cons of this new media.
I just completed the training in AZ last month and the one thing that stands out is these machines take practice. You should prepare to mess up a few dozen shirts just to get the hang of it. You also have to do maintainence daily (or almost daily) or they will clog, especially the White ink. (Still much easier than learning screenprinting) While it is a great concept and I saw some great output, expect to make a few mistakes on the learning curve. Several owners of these machine that are making money using them for quick turn around and short run use. I think they are a good addition to sublimating.
Even if you buy the Melco unit, check out all the web videos over at http://www.screenprinters.net/ to see how these things work. You can\'t wait to be prepared

For those interested in DTG printers, another good group to join is http://www.t-shirtforums.com/
Plenty of opinions and good information.

We have had a couple of T-jets for several years and just upgraded to the newest DTG kiosk printers. Called the "HM1". We love the new HM1 because it has dual heads and only needs 1 color pass apposed to the others 2 passes. It looks so great and is so fast compared to the T-jet. Our HM1 that has white ink sits on an automatic ink agitator so the ink never starts getting clumpy. Very Nice! We couldn't be happier with the HM1's!Are you for Scuba?
