  • pricing for fundraisers

I have been providing some spirit wear for our local High School to sell at their booster booth and I have tried to give them a "fair" price so that they can mark up the item and make some money. I have just ballparked the pricing, up until now, but realize I'm not making enough to make it worth my while, sometimes.

Is there a "formula" or a percentage that someone else uses that has worked for them when doing fundraisers? I have 1 machine, but I'm also in competition w/a couple of other businesses in town. Any suggestions would be very helpful. Also, does anyone offer a breakdown in price for different levels of ordering? Such as 1-20 is one price 21-35 is another etc.?

Thanks so much. I searched the forum and came up w/nothing on fundraisers.

I was having the same issue. I went to www.howtopriceembroidery.com and bought Joyce Jagger's DVD. It will answer all your questions on pricing, with "pricing structure workbook", templates, production schedule and more. I've been in the decorating business for over 15 years in SW FL. Have always "shot from the hip" Not always making money. This time I wanted to make sure and feel confidant that I was making money. the formula in this DVD works. If I want to "donate" that is another story.
    Shalom and much sucess

Ok, thank you! I have seen that and wondered if it was worth the price. I may have to cave and purchase it. Thanks for the advice!

I agree with Gabi Joyce's cd on pricing embroidery is awesome. It really takes you from start to finish and makes you look at how much time you are spending and how much money you are or not making. I would recommend this cd to anyone.

Her embroiderytipsandmore.com site is a great learning site as well.

        Good Luck!
