  • Reflective Thread

Can someone please tell me where to find reflective thread that is sewn on EMS jackets? It is grey and flat in color, but is reflective at night. I have a chance to do some jackets for a new EMS company. They need this thread used on their jackets. Any help in advance would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks in Advance,

The original request was posted 1/2/07 but there are no responses. I am looking for reflective thread for an EMS group. Anyone know where to find this? Thanks.

I don't know if this will help or not, but the reflective thread is made by 3M. I have no idea where to find it, but at least with the manufacturer your search might be easier.

These are the only links I could find,
the problem I see would be for truly reflective thread it has to be embedded with glass beads, which is what is used on all real reflective materials, I see that it is made but I could only imagine how thick it would be qand how fast it would chew up the eye of the needle.

If you get some let us know how it worked.

www.modern-tex.com / [email protected] produces Retro reflective thread that can be used for sewing, embroidery ( lock stitching ), weaving, knitting, washing etc.
This reflective thread is made of Polyester filament yarn with glass beads. It has very strong tenacity, but rather stiff. Reflective materials / glass beads are not peeled off, even after heavy stitching. You may ask them for free samples.
