How Do I make a logo smaller ?

Need help. Just got my Amaya. When I open a logo in os and try to make it smaller, it will not allow me to save it. Then when I load the design it still sends it to the machine in the original size. How do I make the logo smaller than the original on the cd and the save it? Thanks for any help you can offer.

Being the worst PC user in the world (Go MAC go MAC go MAC...LOL)
I have to ask since I've done this many times...are you opening up the artwork directly from the CD, changing it, and then trying to save it? What happens in doing this-your program is trying to save it ON THE CD, which it cannot do. You have to rename it and direct it to save into a 'customr file' on your COMPUTER.
Techs told me (before I got Amaya, got an engraver-also PC...:-( )
to COPY all artwork disks onto the harddrive-never run artwork off a CD...so you don't damage the CD by repeated use.
Then, as SOON as you open new artwork, immediately, before you do anything, SAVE that by creating a NEW folder (Harry's Garage....) and save this artwork in THAT folder. Harry's logo1, for example. Now you have a new original. Make your changes, add lettering, whatever. Then RENAME IT before you save it- Harryslogo2. Now you have your original and one that has been changed. Anything go wrong, or he doesn't like what you did, you can go back to #1 and start over.

frustration is putting it mildly...LOL
We almost threw ours out when new also!
If you haven't gotten the free training yet (week long)-GET IT as soon as you can! We waited 8-9 months (stupidly listened to the salesman's advice to wait) and that was the worst way to start as total beginners. So do what you have to-get the training! THEN you will know that the machine WILL do things right once you know how. The worst for me is PC versus Mac...I have been doing graphics in Mac for over 15 years and everything is different-I constantly use the wrong key combinations, try to do things with designshop it isn't made for, etc....because I am in-bred with my mac.

Hate to admit this but I took the 4 days of training immediately upon receipt of the machine. It was almost too much information at one time.
Okay I put the cd in the drive and how do I open it to save it? Could you give me a step by step instruction before I start drinking!!! Thanks again. I have read and re-read the manuels to no avail.
