I am sewing on a denim jacket back and am getting thread breaks about every 800-1000 stitches. This also seems to happen quite frequently on anything I am sewing. Is there a fabric adjustment that I should be making other than thickness?

I did not adjust the pressure foot. Thanks, I will try that. I am new at this and just "didn't go there!" Thanks for your response.Pam ScandrettComment

You are welcome....if that doesn't work, check out the needle position and that the needle is in the correct way. Also make sure that you are using the right needle size. Beyond that.....I don't know what I would try at the moment. Usually for me though,it is the failure to adjust the presser foot up or down.
