heat seal for patches

Does anyone use a particular brand of heat seal product for the back of patches that they would recommend for use with an iron? I have read that this can be done more successfully if the garment is "pre-heated" with a towel behind it before applying the heat seal to the patch. We only need this occasionally so a heat press is not an option.

Heat will draw the glue towards it. So after you position the patch and iron it, then turn it over and iron from the back. What brand? Don't know, but you could check with Colman
