  • Hirsch Int'l Forms Alliance with Madieramart

Just got an email today from Hirsch Int'l (Tajima, Seit Textile Lasers, Mimaki, etc.) that they formed an alliance with Madieramart for embroidery thread and supplies. Sounds similar to what ShopMelco did last year.

    Cheers,

Soon the ONLY supplier will be Maderia, I for one have not been happy with many of their products,
"Mainly" due to them changing quality and calling it the same product.

This happened twice in ref. to backings

also their prices are quite high for what you can get elsewhere.

Hirsch Int'l must be throwing in the towel on there supplies side.

It would be nice if once they would choose a vendor for their customer service and quality not just how much they can pay for the supplies devision.

    JMHO

I will stick to American embroidery supply , Allstitch and Mesco for thread.

I like Madeira's Polyneon threads. I buy the 1100m spools mostly because I need a lot of colors. They have a case to store them in that is so compact and tidy. Isacord threads (Ackerman, I think) have a slightly duller sheen than Madeira and they are a bear to store. I had to buy some awkward storage boxes for them that take up 3 times the storage area as the Maderia case does.
I also buy my stabilizers from American Embroidery Supply in Atlanta.

the plastic case you can store maderia 1000m spools in is a match box car case wal-mart sells for $4. Maderia sells it for $16.00

          a good mark up.

I was a maderia Dealer then they put through a 60% mark up on their thread and I walked away.
it is an ok thread but not for the price.

I am very pleased with Ackerman. I was buying backing from American but was not consistant on size and weight. Also the shipping was killing me from Georgia. Isacord thread runs much better for me than did the Polyneon.
