Port Authority Silk Touch Polo changed

Hello everyone...
Has anyone else noticed the change in fabric with the Port Authority Silk Touch polo? This used to be one of my favorite polos.
The new fabric is not as soft. I have called SanMar to inquire about this on various occasions and they state that nothing has changed. Well, they need to check again.
I just ordered 3 dozen and the size XL is the old softer fabric, but the 2X & 3X are the new heavier, coarser fabric.

LuAnn, I compared one I got just this week to one from several months ago. I think you are right. The knit pattern looks different. I don't know if the knit is tighter or if the thread is heavier. The new shirt is black so it's a little harder to see but there's a difference.

I noticed a long time ago that there is an inconsistency in the fabric of the K-500. The usual material is the silky soft feel, and then there is that heavier-coarser feel. Seems like an entirely different shirt. More of us need to tell SANMAR about this. It is probably a problem that needs to be addressed at the mill where these shirts are made and shipped in Vietnam.I started using the K-520 which is heavier than the K-500 but consistently smooth. It's a dollar more, but if it comes in the colors my jobs require, I always choose it over the K-500. It feels and looks like a shirt that is much more expensive.
