  • Digitized Font

I am trying to find a digitized font called either Barbed Wire or String Wire. I found the font on web site mentioned here earlier but I want a digitized one. I am not that great at digitizing so I wanted to find one already done. Also I am looking for a wholesale supplier for Western Wear. I have found a few, but wonder if anyone has one they use and are happy with.

    Thanks in advance.

        Barbara:

I was going to suggest Embroidery Library for the font but I see Juli beat me to it.

I would try Walls Outdoors for the western wear they have a great selection of items.

        Good Luck!

I too was going to suggest Embroidery Library...I buy from them all the time...I also have the 3" Barb Wire Font from them and I have used it and it's great...I have a niece that is a Cowgirl and I have used it for her and a local Western Store here has an employee that saw it and we used it as a momogram on some towels for her...we had to buy the 2" letters we needed since my 3" letters were in PES and we don't know how to make a PES file that we can edit or change the size of the 3" letters...the towels turned out great...every time is see where someone suggests Embroidery Library on this site I too want to suggest them as a good supplier of designs...they are very inexpensive and you only have to buy what you want and they always have great sales on too...have a great day and until next time...

              Jenny,

I purchased all the various sizes of the Barbed Wire alaphbets from Embroidery Library and I appreciate the help. However, what I really want is a "font" not an alaphabet. Fonts are like the lettering we have in Design Shop. Fonts are much better than alaphabets because with fonts you simply type in your desired words and you can manipulate them as you choose. An alaphabet is like a design and each letter is treated as a design. I can make the Embroidery Library alaphabets work but there is a whole lot more work involved. If anyone knows of a "font" in Barbed Wire, I would appreciate your help

              Thanks to all who helped

There are several places on the web to find the 'barbed wire' as a font...probably under a different name, but I've seen it when searching for fonts to use in signs. You will have to 'add' it as a TTF font to your library-and I can't remember how to 'convert' it for digitizing but it's easy to 'add' other fonts to your list.
freefonts.com, fonts 101, etc. just don't get suckered into 'paying' for a 'free' font-keep searching (google 'free fonts') and you'll find the 'real' websites to get free fonts you can use.
Then test it before you do the customer job!

These are very similar to the barbed wire fonts:
                  Biker Bones, Dornen
They can be found at www.webpagepublicity.com in the font section. The fonts there are safe. I've never found a virus there. Although you have to be careful where you get your fonts. There are several sites that lead to fonts.com and I have found bugs there so be careful!

These fonts (listed above in my previous post)don't need conversion, just add them to your font list in your control panel. If the font does not appear at first, use another and then go back and change it.
