  • need to find substitute shirt

    Hi everyone,
I am looking for a replacement to a shirt my customer wants printed but my screenprinter has warned me is very thin. It is the District Threads 204C, a feminine T with cap sleeves and a scoop neck. Does anyone have a suggestion for the same style but not 1x1 rib, and maybe heavier than 5.9 oz. That doesn't seem too lightweight to me but maybe the 1x1 rib is the issue. I need it in yellow.
    Thanks,
    Redina

    Redina:

I sell quite a few of those t's and to me they don't seem light weight at all. They are a nice tee if you ask me.

Have you looked at the Hanes Silver for her tee it is item number S10C as this is a 6.1 oz and comes in Canary Yellow.

    Good Luck!

I"ve screened on both for an account up in Maine...all different colors.
What is your screenprinter using-waterbased ink? With plastisol, you can screen on any weight shirts-even handkerchiefs...thinness has nothing to do with it. The 'ribbing' might give sharp edges a krinkle look but you can't avoid that.
If he/she is having trouble screening on them, I'd suggest they use 155 mesh for less ink deposit if they are using lower mesh count. For black on canary, even up to 195 for fine detail and less ink buildup!
It's SEWING on the lightweight stuff that is a pain-not screening! I've done material sewn into special bags that was lighter than most hankies with no problem.
