  • Help pls with Eco- Stick- a biodegradable adhesive stabilizer

Eco- Stick- a biodegradable adhesive tearaway washaway stabilizer witth a needle frendly adhesive

We could use some help please.

We have a new biodegradable adhesive tearaway / washaway needle friendly stabilizer in development - Eco Stick.

    The first reviews were wonderful.

We will have more samples from that test run in 2 weeks - only about 100 -140 7 1/2 x 8 pcs

Would anyone on this group like to test it?

Also, the sizes that we are considering to fit the yield of the full width rolls are:

    9", 11 1/2", 14 1/2 " and 19 1/2 ".

We would welcome any and all comments.

    Thanks in advance.
    Sincerely
    Fred

Fred, I just tried to send you an email direct and it bounced back-address was correct according to your post here.
I will happily give some samples a test-I have enough rejects for knit 'beanies', scarfs, and pique knit polos from poor sewouts caused by wrong type of backing. The samples you sent of mesh worked pretty good on teeshirt weight material, so we'll take a handful and give it a good test! I'm waiting now for a regular 'christmas' order of 50 thick beanie caps that usually end up in a handful of rejects, so send me some!

What type of backing is good for thick knit beanies and scarves?

The best results I have had so far is a tearway (light) backing, and solvy on the front.
You might have to play with the pressor foot setting and manual thread setting to keep it from getting too tight. So far I've had no problem with using the 'auto' setting but pressor foot setting is key to a 'loose' pattern-you don't want it too tight. After sewing, you 'stretch' the hat between your fingers and the tearaway tears off itself-almost falling right away. We have a hand held 'steamer for any solvy that didn't also 'tear off' when you stretch it out.
I'm hoping this new backing from Fred might help with the density and movement problem.

Thanks for the tip especially auto setting and pressor foot setting to a loose pattern.

"What type of backing is good for thick knit beanies and scarves?"

            Viv

What is you approximate stitch count and is it dense or is there a satin stitch
            Same the scarves

            - also

Are the beanies and scarves loosely knit?
Are they light or dark in color?
Could you see a regular cutaway backing through form the front?

Pls e-mail me direct [email protected]
