  • fire retardant thread

    I still need a suppier for fire retardant thread as well as any suggestions on stitching a name on a jumpsuit. I appreciate the National Interagency Fire Center number but need a source.

    Check Madeira as I believe they have some called Fire Fighter which is 40 wt and comes in several colors.

    Hope this is what you can use...

      Margaret, look here: www.thethreadexchange.com They have Nomex thread and so does www.saunders-thread.com. Spun Nomex. Comes in 3,000 meter cones @ $41.75 each, Remember, you may need a fire retardant backing. I could not find any info on the backing other than pure cotton.
