Couple of customers responsible for some large sign orders happened to say they are both looking for a heavyweight 'denim' hat. No adjustable back-comes in 'sizes'. First glance it looks like a blue striped 'engineer' hat, when he took it off-it has a higher crown than any hat I have. Unstructured, so it kind of 'flops' on the back of the head like a french beret on backwards. In reality it is a 'welders' ballcap-the excess 'head' material can be pulled down around the back of the skull, pulling the cap tight so welding sparks roll off. One was wearing his when he came in, my other customer saw it and wanted it. They both have natural 'solar panels' so this type of hat would be great. He had it, his last one-because he used to give them away when he sold welding supplies-and said the mfg. is long out of business. Definitly 'heavyweight' but soft like stonewashed.
Train caps I used to buy for my kids are similar but lighterweight, at least the 'retail' version is. Anyone know what I"m talking about and where to find some? It does have a 'medium' length bill, no top button or vent holes. Even if I have to pay retail-one of them just picked up almost $5000 worth of embroidery, screenprinting and signs...so I'd get him some as a gift.
