  • Supplier for Port Authority

Where can I get Port Authority denim shirts that also have talls? My price from Sanmar is on the high side. All of their stuff seems expensive. Don't know if that's because I'm small and don't do enough business with them, or they just run high. Anyone know anywhere else I could find them? Thanks for all the help in advance!

Cindy, you are out of luck,
Port Authority is San Mars exclusive in house label. You can only buy it at San Mar, and if you see it in another catalog it is because they are re-selling San Mars stuff.

As for Price, we find them pretty competitive, I do get case pricing on everything but we buy a lot of product. Try and call and ask who your sales rep is and ask for bettter pricing, I find that most companies will offer you better deals if you just ask, even if you don't buy much from them, butin return if I get a better deal I do try to send a little more business their way as a thank you.
    Good Luck.

Blank shirts may get better pricing than the rest of us due to some volume arrangement.
Just looking at their site shows a Port SP11
value priced at (.59 then you have to log in to find out the selling price because they have to list the manufacturers suggested price? They 2008 price list shows that shirt at $10.99 per piece and $8.99 for Dozens and $7.99 per case, So they may have a good price if you can't get San Mar to sell to you at lower prices, but trust me when I tell you, if they are selling Port Authority then it is coming from San Mar unless happen to have a bunch of them warehoused themselves. There are lots of Denims out there, maybe you can point us to the style your looking at and the cost you were quoted and what you think is fair? someone may be able to point you to a better source or price. Without the style and pricing info we really can't compare apples to apples.

Just logged in - our price on that shirt is $7.99 - What's the price you are seeing? I don't think you are going to get things cheaper from someone else - than the folks who actually wholesale it.

When I log in, the prices are get are:

              Long sleeve talls - $16.99; women's - $12.99; men's heavy - $14.99 and men's
              $12.99.

The other night when I checked prices, it was approximately $21.00 for the
men's long sleeve. Don't know if I was looking at something else. I don't
think so, but it's a possibility.

Is your $7.99 for short sleeves?

              Thanks for everyone's help!

It was the SP11 that Rod mentioned that I looked up - I suggest you call SanMar and tell them you would like case pricing. Tell them you plan on moving the majority of your business to them and see what they say.

Were you actually logged into their shopping cart application or were you looking at retail prices?

I agree with levelbest- The folks at SanMar are usually pretty helpful- Ask for the rep for your area and see what they can get done
