  • Looking for flag sources

    Hi all,

I have a customer who would like to have one of our designs embroidered onto a flag. We already contacted "Flag Source" and have not heard back from them. Anyone else know where I could look. Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks
    Maggie

Try www.NorthStarFlags.com. I haven't used them but have them in my resource file.

Are you looking for 'blank' flags to sew on or a particular state flag or something? I have several sources-need more details!
Does the customer realize that the design will be seen on the back side no matter how you sew it-unless you sew 2 flags and sew them together around the hem? This was a question brought up a long time ago-someone's customer was upset that it showed!

          Roland,

You are right about the back of the design showing unless we sew 2 flags together around the hem. That is why I want to find a good flag source so I can explain to them what I need. If they can put two flags together and leave one side open then I can embroider it and sew it together when it is finished.

I you have a source that can do that I will appreciate your info.

Thanks to Dorothy Compton and Debbie for their info also.

I use Eder Flag, Napco, and Nabco (yup-even their catalogs are similar...probably a former employee of Nabco decided to go into competition) for my preprinted and blank flags.
None of them offer 'double' sewn flags but I have never asked to see if they would-but with a heavy duty sewing machine it wouldn't be hard to sew them together yourself-if possible get the blanks WITHOUT the grommets so you don't have to take them out of the 'backing' flag before you sew it together.
We opened up the entire end hem when we did a double flag job-removed the quad fold of material and grommets by cutting the overlap back, leaving enough material to sew right to the reinforced hem of the front flag. Then sew all around the edges. It makes for a heavy flag-won't flap as nice-but if that's what they want....

              Roland,

I found the websites for Eder Flag (ederflag.com) and Nabco (nationalbanner.com) but I cannot find anything on Napco. Do you have a phone number or know their website name?
I also sent a note to the other websites given by Dorothy and Debbie. Waiting reply.

              Thank you,
              Maggie
