• Looking for digitizer

Hello,
I am looking for an expert digitizer. 95% of my customers are commercial and all have a company logo. Unfortunately I do not have the time or enough experience needed to digitize the logos, so I am looking for someone experienced, reliable and wont break my pocket book.
Any recommendations are appreciated!!
Thanks!

digitizingfactory.com does a nice job for us and is very reasonably priced. You should be able to search this forum and find some recommendations as this comes up every now and again

I use a company called Power Embroidery www.poweremb.com These guys usually have a turnaround time of 24 hours and offer free editing if required. Most designs are under USD$12 – After they digitize they will stitch it out and then email you a copy of the design file, a PDF of the design and a detailed photo of the stitch out. Compare this to the huge fees & turn-around time offered by most digitizers. You can be charged up to 5-10 times that amount. The other advantage is that it still leaves plenty of profit margin if you’re charging your customer a set up fee.

Check out www.ArtWorkSource.com. $30 for left chest, $99 for full back. Very timely, good product.

Dorothy -

Thanks for the reccomendation. Since you mentioned them and I had a job to send out last night, I gave them a shot.

Here's some instant feedback. I sent the file out at about 8pm last nite. I checked my email a moment ago and it just came in. That was an 11 hour turn around.

Also, they take a picture of the design actually being sewn out (instead of a computer generated file) which is great to send to clients.

We'll see how it sews out here later tonite but so far - so good.

I agree with Jo at Just Sew It Custom Embroidery. Jay at Wicked Stitch of the East is awesome. Couple of days turn around and a few bucks more that the overseas guys, but it sews out great on our Amayas. Very rarely do I need to have the designed tweaked.

BUT - - - does anyone know a digitizer that offers OFM format?

John & Dorothy:

One more thought before I dive into my day of production work...

I've used Artwork Source on quite a few occasions, especially for vectorizing difficult bitmap files and some embroidery digitizing. They are quick and very inexpensive. For their digitizing, I use them mainly for the small orders that I know will not repeat. I don't use them for my larger orders because of the quality of the digitizing. The designs I send them look fine, but I almost always get more thread breaks compaired to the designs I get from Wicked Stitch of the East. Wicked Stitch's designs hardly ever have a thread break in our Amayas and they are the only ones we've used so far that do that when running the design at 1200spm.

I hesitated to post right away because we are on our way to teach and couldn't turn around a design for a new client as quickly as normal.

Terri at Terradon Embroidery is a full time commercial designer. She uses the latest Design Shop and will send the .ofm file, so you can make edits more easily. She does all of the designing, never having an associate or contractor do the work. The working relationship and consistency is valued by her clients.

Marv from Westway is a little pricey but more than worth it.

Just some more feedback - I sewed out the design from Artwork Source at 1050 (our normal operating speed) and it worked great. Very nicely done, good attention to detail, no threadbreaks or issues.

Will send a few more things their way to see about consistency but first impressions were very good.
