    Will a parallel port to usb adapter work for a parallel port dongle?

    Not sure as I haven't tried it - assuming you are tying to install on a laptop? Otherwise, I recommend simply installing a $20-30 parallel port card.

    I've had mixed luck with USB adapters in other applications. Got one to work with my home automation serial port adapter.

      Thanks John, i am getting ready to buy a new desk top. I will make sure it has a parallel port, not many computers come with it.
