Does Anyone Know How To Install A Purchased Digitized Font So That Design ShoP Will Recognize It As One That Comes Up In Design Shop? Thank You!

You can NOT treat bought digitized fonts as a TTF. You have bought one file per letter. I would copy/paste all letters into one file. Then when you want to use that font (actually, that FILE of letters, NOT a font as we know it)you can then copy/paste into you new design. You can use the Align tool to line them all up correctly. At least when all the letters are in one file, they are all immediately available to be used and you don't have to find and open each file for each different letter.

In DS Pro Plus you can edit or create a new font from a true type font or purchased font files using the alphabet editor. It is under tools on your menu. Just follow the instructions and illustrations.

I agree, but this is not easy and takes a long time. Make sure that you ORIGINAL letter is 1" high. So hopefully you purchased your new alphabet in a 1" tall size. This will make your job much easier. Because, if, for instance, you bought them 1/2" high, then you have got to change them to 1" high. AND you have to make sure that the density is correct and the underlays are right and that is sews nicely. Been there, done that.

You really should give it a try when you have some time to work with the feature. My first try was a learning experience and I found I was not completely ready with my files and had to just start over. The second try it went smoothly because I had all the letters, numbers, symbols and punctuation ready before I started. As Juli said it takes some time but once you have it completed that font is there to use like any DS font. I feel that if you intend to use that font often it would be well worth learning the feature and setting it up. Just don't rely on it when you are rushed.

Good luck with it. Please let us know if you try it out.
