  • Digitized fill suddenly gone!

I went to open a design with the artwork attached to continue digitizing it, and in the preview it shows where I left off...however when I opened it, my fills turned into nothing more than columns!! When I checked in the properties box it still says fill and all the properties assigned to it. Where the bleep did this go? And more importantly, WHY????? I have ds pro+ version 9.10 that came with version 10 OS. I still have version 9.0 on this computer so tried to open it there, and still the same, shows complete until opened. 3D acceleration is turned off, (also tried after turning it on) Don't know why these bizzare things suddenly happen. DS was working fine, then I was asked to try to keep stats on amounts of stitches sewn per week, etc. using the software in OS. Seemed as though DS got quirky around that time. OS didn't keep accurate records, so discontinued using that. Computer shows I have plenty of memory. Any ideas anyone?? So much time down the drain once again. I love this program when it works. Help please

Did you save it as an OFM or did you save in a non native format??

I saved it as an OFM file Jerome. I've had this happen before, although not often. Could the artwork be corrupted? (We do have security set up in the company) Or would a large file complicate things? Obviously I reduced the size to fit into the appropriate hoop size for which it is being digitized before starting the digitizing process. Just can't quite figure out DS once in awhile when it does strange things like this out of the blue. It happens occassionally when using the "operations" to change lets say, a sinleline to a column 1. Most often it let's me without a problem, but then again, I can have it do it on one side of a design, but not allow me to do it on the other side which is exactly the same. That's when the frustration sets in. Makes no sense to me. I just am wondering if there is a cause that can be remedied for these occassional occurances. It has been suggested to not use the auto save function, but eek, I don't know that I like that idea either. I've tried changing how often it does the auto save. What is a good time to set that at? Design is now done, just started over.

Do you have the old "bad" file that you could send me?

I would like to take a look if you don't mind.

Yes, I sure will. Perhaps you'll see something that caused this that I missed. Thx.

If I remember correctly, and that's asking a lot, I seem to remember that we should bring in a graphic at the finished size. We shouldn't re-size the graphic in DS. I don't know how much you re-sized it, but that is the first place I'd look.

I've come to the conclusion that most likely the artwork was some how corrupted.

It does not seem to be the art work,
I have been playing with your file and it can be restored by creating another fill shape with the correct properties and then copying the properties to your clip board and then pasting into all the effected shapes then they work normally. but they don't respond to adjusting as you said.
This is going to eat at me till I figure this out.

Well, let me know if you do figure this one out. I just started over in the event something was corrupted. Turned out great.
