ok. long story short. I bought a used big red machine in July. The software version I have is so old that it has a parallel port dongle. Could not justify the upgrade since it works just fine. The computer I was using is,of course, very old. I don't use it for internet, etc. only to run design shop. It crashed yesterday and the hard drive is shot. Can I upgrade from someone selling an extra dongle on here? How do I get the software? What should I do? Finding an old computer with a parallel port is harder than you would think!

Try going on Craig's list or your free cycle web site....when I needed a computer with Windows 98...I was surprised how many people had upgraded and just stored their old computers....also try thrift shops and second hand stores...any place that cells or gives away old things...good luck...I hope you find one -

I was told the converter cables are sketchy at best. But great news! I posted a plea to everyone I know and a kind soul had an extra old computer lying around. I installed the software last night and I am back in business! Thanks for all the help!!Comment
