Windows 8 and DesignShop

For those of you wondering if DesignShop works with Windows 8, the answer is no it won't work. I have DesignShop 9. I even tried it using Windows Compatibility mode and it still won't install the dongle software or DesignShop

You should contact Melco if you are having trouble with that. I just did an on-site training and they have Windows 8. We did not have an issue at all. It worked just great fir both the Amaya OS 10 and Design Shop 9. I was not there when he installed the software on the computer but he did say the guys at Tech Support helped him out.

I have Windows 7 and recently upgraded to DS 9 and OSSE v10. I had a devil of a time getting them installed. Melco even had me restore my computers multiple times and also try using the Windows Compatibility Mode. They ended up sending me a new disk. Had the same problem with that.....until I figured it out on my own 3 weeks later. I HAD TO
1) TOTALLY UNINSTALL MY FIREWALL/ANTIVIRUS AND DO A REBOOT. Then,
2) I HAD TO RIGHT CLICK THE SETUP.EXE FILE, THAT RESIDES ON THE DISK, AND SELECT "RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR".

Try that out. I hope it helps!

Firewall/Antivirus software causes huge problems with the melco software. We run into that quite often at trainings/service calls.

The only issue we had when using Windows 8 was we had to right click on the DS icon on the desktop, click compatibility and then check run as administrator. That allows DS to talk to OS. Didn't turn off Antivirus when we loaded.
