  • .pdc files

I have a customer that needs some jackets done and her former embroider gave her a .pdc file for me to use. I cannot open it. Is this an embroidery file? Can it be converted to .ofm? It would save me time if I could open it and use it...
    Thanks!

I Googled it. It seems to be a Lizard Safeguard Secure PDF File. So, pdf and locked – not an embroidery file, just a picture.

Yeah, I thought so. The customer would like her file with the stitches, as she paid for the digitizing etc. My understanding was if a customer paid, it is their property. I've always allowed customers to have their files if I'm asked. Thanks! guess I'll be doing some digitizing, although I'm not very good at it...ha!

Always a big question as to who owns the actual embroidery file. She probably won't get it. But she can try.

I don't grant the customer the rights to created designs.
I would be stupid to do so.

I have been trusting of customers before and they took my work and had someone else under cut my price.

I would not even have provided the pdf.

It is the customers logo they should have the art work for you.

If a customer pays for digitizing they are ordering in small Quantity . Otherwise the service is provided free.

If they pay they are only paying for the workers time not their product.

Unless the only thing they asked for was the digitizing and then they would have been Billed accordingly and would have been provided with the files at the time of purchase.

But it sounds like your customer is the one that would ask you for a file and take it elsewhere if they could save a few bucks.

          sorry
but this type of customer is among the most irritating out there.

My understanding is the company with the files will not be working anymore so the customer is trying to get the files to have the same work done to keep it consistent...

If the company sold their customer base then the information is no longer theirs to give.

Not saying this is so, but could be.

if not You may have a chance to get the file.
              Good luck!
