Ethernet Cable

We sewed some this morning and when we got home we started the computer and when we tried to open up Amaya we got this error:
Ethernet communications did not start correctly.
Don changed the ethernet cable around and it still won't work. We tried to use our laptop but it's Windows 7 and wouldn't load. Not sure if he has the XP mode on it but we are trying again with the computer for the machine and it still comes up with this error. Can it be the cable? We have never had any problem or error like this before. Thanks, Jenny

It could be the cable or the port itself. The first think I would do is blow some canned air into both cable ports. There was a post a while back that provided this answer.

Right clicking on the AOS icon, click on properties, click the compatability tab and select Windows XP sp3.

We just got the machine working again. We called Melco and got a tech to walk us through the problem. How in the world our computer turned off the ethernet card by itself we will never know but all we had to do was go though several steps with the Tech and he got us back up and running. It did cost us 95 cents per minute since we're not still under warranty with them but it didn't take 5 minutes to do it so it was well worth the call. Thanks, Jenny
