Disappearing graphics

I've had this problem before, but I had hoped it was resolved. It has been long enough that I no longer remember how to fix it. I just upgraded my computer, so Design Shop is a "new" install.

I load a picture, start a design, and for whatever reason (end of day, software update, etc.) I close Design Shop (v9) and the next time I open the design, the graphic is listed but it will not display. This happens to designs created before the upgrade and brand new designs.

How do I fix the display so I don't have to reload and resize my graphic (usually a JPG) every time I go back to a design?

Have you unchecked the 3D accelerater in DS? We also ended up upgrading our video card.

Everything is new on the computer. What I'm seeing in the properties is the wrong location for the graphic file.

I think I've found the "problem" but I'm not happy with the solution. In the save box, there is a checkbox for "save graphic in file". Is there any way to make this the default instead of having to check it every time?
