Computer requirements to run OS ver.9

We are currently running OS version 9 on our computer, but have encountered some quirky things happening. I am wondering if our computer is meeting the required needs to run OS and DS version 9.
We are running Windows XP Professional, Version 2002, 2.33 GHz, 1.96 GB Ram Is this adequate?

Is it a 32 or 64 bit system? The OS doesn't like the 64 bit.

if he is running windows xp it has to be 32 bit.
they did not make it 64 bit till vista.

Great, good to know we're okay on that. So.....we are now being told that we need to upgrade to version 10 as they have "fixed" some of the issues people are having with 9. Hummmmm
Anyone out there have version 10 and if so, does it appear to be running things better with less "cliches"?

There was an earlier conversation about upgrading to Vers. 10. It has resolved a lot of issues for me, especially when loading files with TrueType fonts.
