Does anyone know why I cannot see Previews of my .ofm files when opening a file in DS Pro+ Ver 9 using Windows 7? For a few of my .ofm files, I can see a preview, but for the majority of files, I cannot see a preview (in the Open File window). I have to highlight the file, then I can see a Preview in the DS Preview box on the right side. But I want to see all my .ofm files when I am opening the file (in the View Small or Large Icons, etc.) in Windows 7. I emailed Melco and they said when you create a new file in Windows 7, you should be able to see a preview in the View Icons -- but I've created LOTS of new files since having my new computer and Windows 7, and I can't preview any of them. There's no rhyme or reason when I can preview like a couple files from each folder--I don't see any reason why some can be seen and some can't. Most just look like a "blank white page".
Anybody? (And I have Windows set to use DS when it sees an .ofm file)
Thanks!
MJ, Everything Embroidered

If you use DS Open function set the view to Large or XL icons you will see them all.

If your using windows explored it seems to be hit or miss.

Another great feature by Melco's high quality software programing and integration.

Hi, Thanks for the response, but that's what I'm doing! In some folders, I can see a couple previews, but the majority of the files just show a "blank white page" icon!
I'll send you a couple photos of my computer screen to your email address.

It is driving me crazy trying to figure out why some files show previews and others don't!

I have this same problem. I can see every other folder and file type on my machine in this way, in DS, FILE, OPEN, but strangely enough, only when I look in my folder where all my client artwork is stored, it is blank. If I scroll through it, I can sometimes see a preview, but it is near impossible to work this way. Changing the icons to L or XL has no effect. I have tried this on both XP and WIN7. Did anyone ever find a resolution to this? I know this is a older thread, sorry....

Yes, I also would like to know this! I think it was just left at that sometimes it shows up and sometimes it doesn't! Has anyone called/emailed Melco about it?
Thanks!
MJ, Everything Embroidered

At the bottom of the "open" window there is a drop-down menu labelled "file of type". If graphics have not yet been saved as a design file, they will only show up if you select "All Graphics" in this menu. I thought I'd lost all my graphic stuff and felt really stupid when this was pointed out to me.

No, I believe we're referring to regular .ofm files showing up when you list files -- not graphics files. On the preview, you can see the actual embroidery design and other files, you see nothing but a "blank page."

My issue remains no matter what file type I am looking at, or for. It is just blank. Every other folder on my machine can be seen no matter how far down in sub folders I look, but my Client Folder where all my artwork is saved, is blank. This is terribly frustrating.

This is a screen shot of what is happening to me. Nothing I do makes any difference. Notice I have ALL FILES selected and there are MANY folders there.

I've also had this happen with version 9 when choosing a file. I highlight it, does or does not preview in the side window, but if I uncheck and recheck the preview window, then they can be seen most times. Crazy.

I still have not found a fix for this. And I have un-installed and re-installed for good measure, to no avail. I would REALLY like to resolve this. Anyone???

Open the folder and check to see how it's set. It should be set to "Large Icons". Windows defaults all folders to "Details" to save resources. After you have this set in the folder itself, the graphics will show up in Design Shop's open folder. There may be another work around but this has worked for me. It ***** but we gotta love Microsoft.
