I use Isacord thread primarily now and in the color palette many of the colors come up way off from the actual color of the thread with that number. I would like to know if it is possible to change the hue of the color to represent the actual thread color better and also keep the correct number of the thread assigned to it. I have the colors I want set up as default, but I've had to use Arc colors (which seem to represent the actual colors much better than the Isacord), but this of course creates a problem when printing out the color sequence to be used (since it's a different brand of thread and different numbers) but I need these nice colors so the clients see the actual colors in jpgs or printouts. I realize I can just use those good colors for printouts & jpgs. but that is extra time spent which I rarely have. Not to mention if someone steps in to help, they know whats going on and what color to use. I need to know how to change the hue of the color to represent the actual thread color and then assign the correct number and thread brand to it. I don't have a corel program to use, so can't import it. Any ideas anyone???

I certainly feel your frustration ckramer! I loved the ARC thread and now that's it is discontinued, I've been have your same scenario. I prefer Isacord but the Madeira numbers are much better in the software (probably because they paired up with Melco). I still have issues with the thread colors not updating in the right column when I change them, etc. I will follow this thread because I'm in the same boat. I've search around to see if anyone else picked up ARC but to no avail. It's like they just disappeared! So many were dependant on that thread. Thanks for the post and hopefully we'll get some great suggestions.

Isacord is my choice of thread. I have used the ARC that came with my machine but any I have purchased is always Isacord. I have the conversion charts for them and if the number isn't on the charts then I take the thread and match it as close to the ARC thread number as I can and then I put the ARC number on the Isacord spool of thread and when I am choosing the numbers for the sewout I use the ARC number instead of the Isacord numbers. So far we haven't had any problems doing it this way and we've never had any complaints from customers either. I am sure others may have ways to do it other than this way but just thought I would let you know how we do it.Jenny
Westbrook Wonders
Wetumpka, AL 36093
334-567-3867
[email protected]

Hi Jenny,
Actually, that's what I was doing too for awhile until I realized that since ARC is no more, Melco won't support the colors and eventually they will be not included as a thread choice in their software, right? This worried me so I started numbering all my spools according to Isacord. Kind of the reverse of what you're doing. I understand the colors don't match as well as the ARC on screen but I just tell my customers that the computer shot is just a "close" call to the color and not by any means completely accurate.
