I need instructions for converting a simple design into applique. I scanned a cat, saved it as a vector file. When I open it in design shop pro, I see a white box & I don't know what the next steps are. Please help!

If you scanned the picture and saved it, it is a raster file, NOT, I repeat, NOT a vector!! So, you need to digitize by hand, or use the auto functions, but only if it is a line drawing. But the auto will probably not work. Sorry to give yo the bad news.

If it's a real clean, crisp raster file, you could convert it to a vector. There's an online vector conversion service where you get 2 free conversions when you register. If you're interested, let me know.

Thanks for the advise. I was able to convert it from scanned vector file to appliqué. It took me some time & I couldn't guide anyone, but it turned out fantastic!!!!
