  • Saving a JPEG of a design

I digitize and send designs to my XTs from a computer that does not have a printer attached. When a customer wants a paper or electronic proof of a design I save it as a jpeg on a thumb drive and either e-mail or print it on another computer. I have done this dozens of times in the past. Yesterday, a jacket back design I needed to send to a customer show up as a totally black square when saved as a jpeg. Anyone have this problem and how did you solve it? I have Design Shop Pro + Version 9.00.099

    Hi Jimmie

I also have had this problem, mostly on my laptop which is an HP, unfortunately I think it has something to do with my video card on my laptop as I can bring the design in on my desktop computer and save it as a jpg and have no problem. Sometimes it works but lately that is how I have had to work around it.
If you have DS on another computer or can install it on one, try to see if you can save it as a jpg on that computer.

I have a dedicated Dell running Vista and it works most of the time. Don't know why it won't work this rime. Thanks.

Did you try saving another design as a jpg just to see if it would. Perhaps one you have before.
If it does it OK you may be running on the low side of memory in your PC for the function. And adding a stick of ram may make all the difference,
If not then you may have a corrupted program and an uninstall / reinstall may be needed.

I received a file today with an attachment that also downloaded as a square black screen. Turns out, I was trying to view it from my iPad which did not work. Opened it on my computer and it was fine. File size was 1.7mb which was too large for my iPad.

I think the memory allocation may the cause. Smaller desighs work ok. Will check. Thanks for the suggestions
