This problem has not been addressed for some time. The only guy I knew that was using a Mac and was able to make it work somehow, was Roland Irish, in Claremont, New Hampshire (signman). He hasn't been on the group, as a regular contributor, for some time. Melco told him their software was never meant to be compatible with the Mac(several years ago), but he was a bit stubborn about it and eventually got it to work somehow...
This is a good question tho...I really don't know if Melco took any steps to get the Mac included in their programs or not....anybody know?
Hi folks...sticking my nose in again.
I never did get a mac to run the Amaya-that was someone up in Canada several years ago, and shortly after he posted success...he disappeared. Probably taken out of existance by corporate spies...LOL.
So I have no idea on how it was done, but the theory is sound...if you can run Win on a mac, you should be able to run Win programs!
But I have sold my Amaya, it's in a new home and working like crazy. I'm just about done with screenprinting, trying to sell off that end of the business and go into semi retirement with just my digital printing, vinyl cutting, and engraving shop. It's been a very hectic and bad year family wise with accidents, illnesses, downturn in economy...but I have my second grandson due in March! Whoopee! I think....
So thank you all for thinking about me...
Roland
Well how about that...we smoked you out in the open....
Congrats on the new grandson, could be a surprise, ya know...;-}
My bad, I remembered all of the back and forth you had with Jeff Banks at Melco about the computer...I really thought it was you that got it to finally work.
hi ron,
good to see u.
bootcamp is if u have a other operating system running in a mac partition, but not in mac enviroment.(info for all who dont know it). so in my case. win 7 ist running without touching the mac system (except the hardware and that might be the problem?)
can you read please my other post too because the bobbin sensor problem?
thanks a lot for all.

Werner,
I did a search here for "apple Macintosh" and read a thread from 2007. BarbaraB of Deep South Embroidery mentioned selecting the USB port for the dongle.
Hope this helps, since either I pay for ANOTHER overhaul on my COMPAQ laptop due to viruses which may not correct the issue of the screen going black while working. It will not respond and reappear, I have to shut off and turn back on.
I'd love to hear from more users who run Amaya OS & DS on iMac.
hi tricia,
it is a network problem. the os does not recognize the build in the mac-laptop network card. but win7 recognizes it, because i can access the internet...so for me it seems a os problem..maybe i have overseen settings somewhere? the os can not find the amaya mashine. it is not a problem of the usb port. my dongle is working.
