  • Fill Island

Can someone tell me what "Fill Island" is? I have DS Pro+ V9 (completely updated). It is in the last button farthest right in the flyout for the insert hole symbol. Any help with this is most appreciated. I tried the search in the DS Help, but didn't get anywhere with it.

    Thanks in advance.

    I assume it is this,
If you were going to digitize a large letter "O"
You would want a fill stitch because its so large and not satins. but where do you start and how do you digitize the hole inside your item. you would digitize the outside borders with the fill sitich and then select the button your talking about and digitize the hole. or the fill island (a section without fill in the middle of the fill) and then it would subtract that section from the first, leaving you with what you intended.
I hope that makes a little more sense.

But isn't that "insert hole into selected object"?

On that fly out button, there are three options to choose from:

      Insert hole into selected object

      Insert split line

      Fill Island

Maybe it's just another way to do same thing..... : )

        A fill Island
Allows you to change the fill inside that area.

If you want a pattern inside a circle shapped like a triangle of the same color. it can be very useful.

        Play with it have fun.

Thank you Jerome....couldn't we do that in earlier versions? But it was called something else....maybe I'm dreaming.
