also is there a difference in the wacf and the xt-wacf? i have an xts and seen there are these two frames listed in the hoop lists. also seen that the xt-wacf is a little bigger sewing area.
should i be using the xt-wacf?
There is a video called "Turning lettering into two color lettering" on this link that shows one way of doing it. One tip he doesn't give is that if you hold down your alt key when trying to make a straight horizontal or vertical line between two points it will engage the constrained line angle feature giving you a perfectly straight line. Can't help with your second question.
thanks so much Mama Kass! i actually seen that video a couple of weeks ago when i didnt have my machine or software and doing research, but i forgot what I where I seen that video.
thanks again!
Try this..... hilite the element or lettering you wish to outline....hold down your "Shift Key" and select a walk stitch, bean stitch, singleline center, etc...icon in your toolbar and left click on it. This should outline the element and then you can add color breaks to change the color of the border as well as add pull comp, underlay, etc.....
It helps to know the history or evolution of the Melco and Amaya machines.
The older Melco's used versions of the CCF/WAD frames.
The early Amayas used primarily the WACF, but folks used the CCF/WAD also. The CCF/WAD, for that matter, can be used on all the Amayas, XT, XTS and Bravo. The CCF/WAD is not a wide angle frame and does not have as wide a sewing area as the WACF (Wide Angle Cap Frame).
Then along came the XT. The XT used the cap driver designation of XT WACF and the cap driver was still a one piece version. Later Melco made a change to the cap driver where the cap driver cylinder was separated from its guide rails. This series is designated XT EXTENDED WACF The rails could stay permanately installed on the machine or removed for special sewing applications.
If your machine is an XTS, the XT EXTENDED cap driver designation is the one you should be using.
