  • Win 7 critical updates on 9/29/10 causing problems

The latest critical updates on 9/29/10 for Windows 7 are causing really strange problems like saving files with satin stitches changed to fills with stitch lengths of 6. No matter how many times I change it back it still saves the same way.

Will I need to reinstall my software?

Do I need to remove DSv9 & OSv9 before reinstallation?

Do others have critical updates turned off?

I could really use some help with this.

    Thanks.

If this is true, You may need to reinstall.
I have no Issue with the Windows Updates,
So it may be something else in your system.

You should remove If your trying for a clean install.

re install may fix it, But be sure you have the latest version and updates in the DS & OS before you do as this may be the issue also.

And I don't have updates turned off.

Thank you. I will go ahead with a reinstall. I can't turn off short stitches in anything.

That's a very odd sequence of events. I don't think it's the critical updates though. I would suggest a reinstall of the Melco software though. Sometimes the sequencing of installation is what causes a hiccup in the performance. Reinstalling should fix it should that be the case. Good luck!

Question: When reinstalling the software, do you just install it or do you have to delete what you have on your computer first? I had problems with the V9, so I went back to V7. I am sure there are more updates since I tried last.
Seems like V9 kept shutting down my computer.

Please let me know if I should install the latest.
          Thank you,

            I am having a problem with A O S V9.
It shuts my computer down after approximately 3 minutes. This program has been running on this vista pc since feb 2010.
I did a uninstall and reinstall twice, have been in contact with a service tech, replaced the security dongle, and now am waiting for a new updated disc to run on windows 7.I also have checked the network card. Machine is not turned on, and have even tried unplugging machine from p.c.
I have also checked hardware and devices, and did not find any issues.
            Would welcome any ideas.
