  • Free Sierra Software

I just found a link to www.freesierrasoftware.com. They are offering free digitizing software (Stitch Era Universal) and free virtual sample (Visual Stitch and Print) software. It appears that embroidery is limited to 40,000 stitiches, but has lots of features. Does anyone know anything about this?

    David,
Apparently, there are advertising panels in the software they are giving away. This is how they are compensated. Also, if you want the full features of the software, you have to pay for the upgrade.

Who knows, it might work for some.

In my travels as a tech, I have seen this Sierra software commonly associated with SWF machines. And most operators weren't very sure of how to use it efficiently. But hey, as I said, it might work for some.

A lot of people use this software on Sew Forum sponsored by Allbrands. One thing they don't state is you have to be online to use it. I deleted from my computer because of this. If your looking for a good price software go with Embird.
      Paradise can have it\'s draw-backs.

This is good software. It's full featured including branching, True type, Manual and auto tools, raster to vector conversion, color blending. The free version has ads and limited digitized fonts... and you have to be connected. The internet is your dongle. Of course, the point is to sell software, so if you want more, then you have to upgrade. I've been using their software for years and I use the free version
on the road or to do quick edits on other computers.
