  • Pro+ Hoop Manager

I have the ICTCS1 Hoop Tech with the left & right & rear hoops for hats. I'm having a had time centering the hoops in hoop manager. It does not want to see the Y adjustment for offset. I'm using OS 7, & Pro + 7. I'm trying to be very careful not to get to close to the needles. Is the slimeline much better for this?
Thanks for your help in advance. Dan

    Dan,
The ICTCS hoop was not supported by Melco when it was released to the public. Later, the Slim Line hoop was released and Melco chose to adopt this hoop's dimentions to it's "hoop list" and you were even able to buy the Slim Line from Melco Mart.

What was important about the ICTCS hoop (Inter Changeable Tubular Clamping System) was that you had to give it a negative three (-3) inch offset in the Y axis. Otherwise the hoop's center would be too far to the rear of the hoop causing the hoop to be pushed too far forward when centering the hoop. And if you left the clamp open when centering the hoop (or tracing), there was a great chance you would cause damage to your machine.
The Slim Line mounts to the x carriage as opposed to sliding it's brackets into the hoop arms. This means that selecting the Slim Line hoop in the Hoop List will give you a better chance of centering the hoop correctly when using the Slim Line hoop. It's not to say the Slim Line is any better or worse than the ICTCS hoop. Only different in it's shape and the way it mounts. They will both essentially sew the same. I know this because I have owned both.

If you are going to use the ICTCS hoop, you will want to start from scratch in the hoop manager and be sure to give it a -3 inch Y axis offset. Also be sure to give it at least a .5 inch Default Sew Field Margin. This will assign your hoop limits.

    Good Luck,
    Ed
