  • Color Change Issue in DS Pro + Lettering

I have an extra color change in a lettering design that I have not seen before. I only used 2 colors in the design. In the stitches tab it appears as shown at this address:

When I open the color selection in OS v9 I see an extra color at the end which is black. I did not use black in the design. In order to be sure I only used 2 colors I selected the same color for colors 2 and 3. It looks like there is a double color change in the design when looking at the stitches. I can't delete the extra color.

I don't know why the first of the double color change has a 2 after it. Can anyone explain this.

I've had the same thing happen, mine is usually a trim command, I can't tell if that is what your is by looking at the stitch view, does it show it in the project view? If you have auto trim clicked on sometimes that adds it as a color change, as far as I have noticed. I am careful at looking at how many colors I have on DS then how many show up in the Amaya OS.

This is my experience, I will look forward to seeing what everyone else comments.

I'm experiencing the same issue--in fact last time I got TWO black color changes at the end. It was at the end of an autodigitized design, if that means anything.

No trim is there, just the two color changes right together and one shows the 2 beside it. The fact that there should be one color change there would mean the design would trim and then move to the next color but a trim or auto trim command does not show there. If I understand correctly from previous posts by the experts if I only define the two colors in OS that I am using in the design it would actually cause the stitchout to go back to the beginning color because it is looking for a third color. I would then have the entire design (both elements) using the same color.

This being a built in lettering design with two elements it would probably be considered automatic so that may be an issue here too.

Linda H., was yours auto digitized?

Would anyone on the list that has Pro Plus V9 be able to try this same lettering design and see if it happens or if it is just mine? It is the Classic Monogram 'L' - 6 inches. I used the shift and L in order to get the swirl behind the letter. The first color is gold and second color is dark green. I saved the file and then clicked machine and load. When I got to OS and clicked on the color setting I saw 3 colors. The order of the colors appear gold, green and the added black last.

I have not ever seen a number like that 2 after a color change before and haven't been able to find it mentioned anywhere in help.

Why don't you load the design. Then "Move" to the second color and see where it goes to. Then move to the 3rd color.

From what little I have been paying attention to, if you set your first (and only) two colors, it should do those in order and then stop. Worth a try.
