Is anyone running Amaya with Windows 7? Seems like the software isn't playing well with Bill's new enterprise!

I've been running Ver.9 of DS Pro+ and Amaya OS with Windows 7. It's been really smooth.

I am getting ready to upgrade with new computers and windows 7 and finally take the plunge into DesignShop/OS version 9. I have a version 9 CD that was never loaded. Melco is sending me the latest version that works with windows 7. They told me that the older releases of version 9 will not load onto a windows 7 computer.

Just the general tips....newer processor would perform better than just installing Win7 on an older computer. High quality graphics driver. That's pretty much it. Is it an older computer you're using?

we upgraded our new computer from Vista(64) to Windows 7 - and we can't even load our v7 OS or DS. When we tried to find some help thru Melco we were told that we have to spend $$k to upgrade our software.
Is anyone successfully running v7 under Windows 7?
            Any guidance is greatly appreciated!

AOS 7 will not run under windows 7... You will need to upgrade or run Windows XP in a virtual machine (which theoretically should work though I havn't tried it).

I am running Windows 7 64 bit ultimate and it is working fine. I run amaya and design shop as XP compatible and run it as administrator. I have had no problem since using those settings.

What version of Design Shop/AOS are you using?

I was just reading about Windows & trouble shooting and compatibility mode so that you can always run certain programs in a different level of Windows software, such as XP or Vista or maybe even 98
Good to know that option might actually work!

Love to hear more about it as well...

Tommy - can you get in touch and maybe give me some tips on setting this up? I'm not ready to sink a couple thousand into new software!
                      Thanks so much!

Lets figure out first what version of AOS/DS he is running. From what I understand you need v9 to run on Windows 7.

                          John,
I agree, that's my understanding as well - which is why i'm asking from the guy that apparently knows from experience. I am assuming he's not running AOS/DS v9 however since he states that he's running as XP compatible - which would be unnecessary unless v9 has a problem with a 64bit operating system as well.

AOS V. 7 had an issue with the Vista network stack though Design Shop would run. 9 ran fine on vista and later ran fine on vista 64.

We currently run v. 9 on Vista 64 and were about to move to windows 7. Only computers left in the house not running windows 7 are the embroidery and cutter computers. Other 8 are on Windows 7 already.

We ran both v7 on Vista 64 and all went downhill when we upgraded to Windows7(64). I'm keepin my fingers crossed that Tommy makes my night!
