Did you keep V7? If so, and maybe even if not, those fonts may still be in the font folder under the program in Programs Files. If you can find them you should just be able to copy/paste them to the new Fonts directory.

Same problem here cindy - specifically OESCO can't be found anywhere. I'm a little frustrated.

If you could find the exact name of the files that are missing, then you could do a search for them. Perhaps they are not gone.

I really dislike it when upgrades don't warn you of the possible loss of files. I lost a tediously made file of all my threads once. Now I keep a copy of those precious files somewhere else.

Since we started-4 years ago-we had our computer outfitted with a second hard drive. All our customer files, fonts, artwork, treasure chest, etc. are on the second drive-the programs are on the first hard drive. No matter what we do to the program-crash it, reload it, upgrade it, etc.-the other files cannot be corrupted or removed by installing or removing program upgrades.
Well worth doing-we are buying a 'new' Intel ThinkCenter for the XT 'tradeup' coming in-and as soon as we dismantle Big Red...the original computer goes up to the computer hospital, the storage drive is removed-and transplanted into the Think Center...all files intact.
And, thanks John...yes, it is only costing me $499 for the computer, $149 for a 19" flatscreen.
          Was worth checking around!

the problem is, at least with most of the embroidery fonts - that the file isn't named what it's called, rather it is a number letter combo or something like that (not looking right now) - so it's hard to identify what is what.

On the subject of V9 for DesignShop and Amaya...what's the general consensus of using Windows older version instead of Vista? Have all the bugs and quirks with Vista been taken care of in V9 or should we get our new computer 'retro' fitted with the last Windows version?
Still running Windows 2000 on our DesignShop Pro V6 and Amaya V7 and not a problem there...but have to replace the computer for the new XT coming. Just can't crank anymore out of the old AMD model.

Vista runs just fine. SP2 is now out. Also Vista 64 bit works fine as well with the latest version of 9. I wouldn't think twice at this point about leaving the preinstalled os on the new machine you buy.

Thanks...the new computer is already waiting for us-once we tear down Big Red we run the old computer up to them and they will swap in our 'storage' hard drive-so all the artwork files are ready to use.
Any reason I should hang on to the old computer in case I need to run V6 of Design Shop-or are all the bugs out of V9 now? (yes, I see several are having a disappearance act happening-hope we don't get that!) If not-I'll add the computer to the pile of computer stuff going to the recycling center.

I'd keep the old one for a few weeks.

When you get the new one, before you install AOS/DS or anything else, run updates.

Then go here and grab vista sp2:

Roland, I have been running DS9 on my Dell laptop with a Celeron processor with Vista and it runs fine.
