I've asked this question before, but received no responses. Is there a way to preview a DST file in Design Shop or Amaya OS without having to open it up? I don't want to convert all my DST files and find it frustrating that I can preview the design in a thumbnail view.

    Geri,

Well, that depends on what you mean by "opening it up." Is this design being loaded to the machine at the same time you are "opening" it up, or are you just wanting to look at the design before loading to the machine or just browse through the designs, etc, etc......

There is a preview window in Design Shop but it shows one thumbnail at a time. It just shows you what the design looks like but doesn't show a great deal of detail.

When in a folder of saved designs, I select one and then use my arrow up or down keys to browse quickly through the designs in that specific folder.

        Hi Rod and Sharon,

Thanks for responding. I didn't know that you did until Juli responded on the site. So I came to the website and checked.

I want to just preview the design -- not open it up -- just want to look at the design before loading it to the machine. No DST files will appear in the thumbnail view, but all other versions do. I would like to be able to do as you suggest and use my arrow keys in that design directory to locate a particular design. Not looking for detail, just an idea that I'm pulling up the correct file. Right now I have to "open" every DST file in order to see what it is. Kind of a pain . . .

          Geri,

I just tried a little experiment. I created a simple design and then saved it as a DST file. I was able to view the dst design file in the preview window..?? Guess I will try some other dst files from other sourses and let you know.....
