The latest version has been out quite awhile. I have seen the 2008 ver demo'ed at the ISS show. It has a whole different look/feel to it. There are some very nice improvements like the management of the colors. You will be able to see the number of stitches on the main screen so you don't have to go in the menus to see how many stitches were just added or lost with what you just did. And many, many other things too. Just can't remember them. Of course, you'll need an upgraded ver of the OS to handle the new file ver, but that will be shipped with DS. It was supposed to be released last March or so, but they found that they needed to do a lot more work on it. Personally, I'd just rather wait until it is ready without glitches. But I will get it the minute it comes out!

      Happy Friday!
You don't necessarily need to upgrade the OS software just because you have a newer version of DS. The software allows the user to save in several lesser versions to accommodate older
      software, both DS & OS.

Being new to DS I was wondering if you need to purchase the new version or if you just need to purchase an upgrade. Is there an approximate $$$$ available for these purchases?

Thanks in advance for the info,

If you already have Design Shop, you can normally just purchase the upgrade. The best thing to do would be to contact your sales rep. or melco direct.

What is the latest version of DS? I heard in July at the open house Melco had in Dallas that Ver. 9 would be out soon. Is that the one you are talking about?

At the July class in Dallas, they said it would be out about now. Is supposed to be really great. I am going to ISS in Ft.Worth next week. Hope Melco is there. They don't have their machine maintenance class scheduled as they usually do so I wonder if they are going to be there. I think business is getting bad because I have had calls asking if I need supplies. Never had that happen before.

The newest realeased version is 7.00.115. Design Shop 9 is the one they are working on and is not yet realeased. I do not have a date for you but can tell you it is being workied on and tested. Ver 9 has new stuff and is a way different than the current version. It lookls like it is getting close but I am no engineer and we haven't heard any dates so just hang tight as they would rather test it more to make sure when its realeased it doesn't have too many bugs.

They have come a long way with the new version but still have some bugs to work out. There are a lot of changes and a new look. Like Aaron, I'm no engineer but it appears to be getting closer.
