No properties in Design Shop

I have lost the ability to click on properties in Design Shop.
I was working on a file and when I went to right click and click on properties nothing happens. If I click again I hear a ding. The hard drive light is lighting up but nothing happens. The only way out is to hit the Escape key. The Escape key stops what ever the computer was doing and lets me work in the program again. As far as I can tell only the Properties doesn't work. This is on all designs.
I am using Design Shop Pro Plus 7.00.112 Windows Vista Home Premium

Anyone had this problem? Any suggestions?
I did try reinstalling Design Shop but that did nothing.

Hi Mike,

I was wondering if you might be able to go to the VIEW window pull down and select it from the bottom of that menu? I have been having trouble with several of my buttons disappearing in DS also, but I can access them from the pull down at the top. While I am still working on the problem, at least I can continue working.

Yes I can go to View and then see the Properties there but when I click on it nothing happens. At least on screen. I can see the harddrive light doing something but I am not sure what it is doing.
I have uninstalled the program and then reinstalled it but it did the same thing. I have since reloaded the computer by formating the harddrive and reinstalling everything. It wasn't to bad it was a new computer and did not have much loaded on it. This took care of my properties problem but I would still like to know what I did to cause the problem.
I have also had the fonts A disappear from the toolbar until I restarted the program and then it was back.
